Just a brief update to announce that you can now access the Pink ♥ Milk ♥ Tea from either:
It’s really a very minor change and won’t effect anything in regards to functionality, but it makes me feel excited thinking about it. It makes it feel ~fancier~ now that it has its own domain. (Plus, I find the ability to have an email address be at “pinkmilktea.com” kind of fun!)
I was considering exporting things over and switching to a different platform, but I don’t think I’ll be doing that right away. I like the way things are at the moment; I’m not exactly itching to change everything.
I also added a little icon that will show up on your favourites. Please keep in mind that I’m really not a pixel artist–it’s a little wonky, but it should at least be decently recognizable.
Creme Puff had his surgery on Thursday, August 12. He’s been doing pretty good–it seems like he’ll pull through fine, barring any unpleasant downturns. He came back right on schedule, the day after the procedure. He really hates being force-fed, so he was a bit grumpy when we picked him up. It took a little while to convince him I wasn’t going to stick a big syringe in his mouth as long as he ate food on his own, but we convinced him with basil. My mother and stepfather have been growing basil, and the guinea pigs really love it. (Plus, they smell really nice when they eat it!)
He took some time to relax once we got him home. I’m sure being at the vet for the operation was pretty stressful.
He’s just as energetic and boistrous as ever. (As soon as I got him back into the city, he went, “A-HA! THERE’s the guy that feeds me!” and put up a big fuss until my husband provided lettuce.) He doesn’t seem to notice that he has a huge stitched-up incision, except when he tries to streeeeeeeeeetch to peek over the top of the cage like he usually does and then suddenly realizes it kinda hurts. Poor thing. His pain medication seems to be doing a good job, though, because otherwise he is just as active as he was before.
He has a check-up in two weeks, and hopefully it will be all good news! I’ve got my fingers crossed hoping for the best!
Creme Puff has been on antibiotics for two weeks, trying to heal his lesion. He just had his checkup, and the doctor has cleared him for surgery on Thursday. At that time they’ll remove his tumor, and hopefully he’ll be back to better in no time! Please keep him in your thoughts~ ♥
Creme Puff is on the left, and S’mores is on the right. It was hard to get a picture where Creme Puff wasn’t distracted with trying to eat something.
I’ve been really worried about him, because I love my pets, but I’m finally starting to feel like this is coming to a close. It won’t really be over until he’s recovered from surgery and had another check-up, but he’s managed to survive a lot in his short life; I’ve got my fingers crossed that this is just one more anecdote for his memoir. S’mores and he are both in high spirits, causing lots of trouble and doing those things that guinea pigs do. It seems very likely that he’ll get through this just fine.
Meanwhile, I’ve been brainstorming and trying to get back on track in terms of writing–so expect to start seeing posts again sometime soon. I’ve really missed keeping this updated. I’m sure I’ll be on a roll for a little while as I work out all the things I’ve been planning on talking about or meaning to take note of!
I have so many pictures to share, thoughts to muse over, books to review, and more, but it might be a week or so until I get back into the swing of updating on a regular basis. One of my guinea pigs has hurt himself and needs to undergo surgery. ;_; I get really easily confused and distracted when I’m worried, and I love my pets very dearly so I’m a bit shaken up.
He’s not currently suffering or in pain. I’m still greeted by his
obnoxious cheerful guinea pig wheeking every morning while getting ready for work. He still attempts to get into fights with the other, much larger, guinea pig who could and will kick his puny butt if he doesn’t knock it off. He’s eating just fine and continually tricking my ever-gullible husband into feeding him yet again.
I took him to the vet over the weekend, and he’s on antibiotics for his injury while we schedule surgery to have his tumor removed. The surgery isn’t major, but any kind of procedure on very small animals has a lot of risk attached. I don’t want to put him in danger of further injury by avoiding or prolonging the tumor’s removal, but I worry. I’d really miss seeing his little face glaring at me while I rub his soft little ears.
S’mores and Creme Puff resting at my mother’s house after their examinations, in their “vacation cage.” Something like this is much too small for two pigs, but it works in a pinch.
The bottom line is that updates will be sporadic until both of my pets are restored to 110% health and happiness. I want to write about desserts and frills and fun times, but it’s hard to concentrate–so I can’t promise anything. My pets are very dear to me, and poor Creme Puff has already been through a really rough upper respiratory infection that he nearly didn’t recover from; I’ve got my fingers crossed that he can pull through again. As long as he’s still bright-eyed and energetic, I’ll do whatever I can.
Thank you in advance for your understanding! ♥
It’s hard to believe that I’ve been writing here for one year! I’ve been having a lot of fun so far, and I hope I can keep updating and coming up with something at least vaguely interesting for at least a little longer.
I want to extend a thank you to those who read, those who comment, and those who do both! ♥ I appreciate the kinds words and well-wishes. Although I don’t keep writing in hopes of fame or recognition, it’s nice to know that other people find my articles or tidbits useful or amusing.
Here’s to another year! ♥ May it be frillier than the last! (Is that possible??)

Just a brief update~! I’ve changed the comments from the default Blogger options to the nested system by Disqus. Sometimes readers leave lovely comments that I want to respond to, but due to the non-threaded comment system I don’t have a way to direct my attention to them! I had opted for simply writing “@ name that commented,” but I knew that no-one would be checking back to see if I had responded. I’ve seen the Disqus system in-use on other blogs, and although I don’t completely like its layout it seemed like a workable second option.
Currently I have it set up so that (hopefully!) you don’t have to join Disqus to comment. :3 I tried to enable log-in with Twitter or Yahoo! accounts, but I’m not sure how successful that is.
Feel free to let me know if you have any suggestions! I don’t 100% understand some of the intricacies of Blogger. I’ve been briefly entertaining the thought of moving to a fully-hosted WordPress-powered blog on a separate domain, but I don’t want to make a commitment like that if I’m not having fun and actually making posts here~ We shall see!
